Listening Music

While I was driving around, I got to listen to a lot of local radio stations, which were great.  But I also had a rule of any time I knew I'd be driving for an hour ormore, I'd listen to a full album.  This is as comprehensive a list I can put together of all the albums I listened to-

Under the Table and Dreaming - Dave Matthews Band
Crash - Dave Matthews Band
Strangers to Ourselves - Modest Mouse
Veneta, OR 8/27/72 - Grateful Dead
Moon and Antartica - Modest Mouse
Moondance - Van Morrison
Astral Weeks - Van Morrison
Exile on Main Street - Rolling Stones
Aha Shake Heartbreak - Kings of Leon
Because of the Times - Kings of Leon
Return to Cookie Mountain - TV on the Radio
Dear, Science - TV on the Radio
Turn on the Bright Lights - Interpol
s/t - Clap Your Hands Say Yeah
s/t - Blind Melon
Emergency & I - Dismemberment Plan
Ludlow Garage - Allman Brothers
In an Aeroplane over the Sea - Neutral Milk Hotel
Yankee Hotel Foxtrot - Wilco
The Golden Band - American Analog Set
OK Computer - Radiohead
Kid A - Radiohead
Amnesiac - Radiohead
John Wesley Harding - Bob Dylan
Remain in Light - Talking Heads
Speaking in Toungues - Talking Heads

There are probably a handful I'm missing, but that's a complete list.

Off to New Orleans.

Happy New Year

Thanks for all the support in 2014.  I had a lot of great moments, like working with Chip Johnson on the new album, working with LA Johnson (no relation) to make art for the new album, playing some great shows and festivals, and getting to play with so many talented and diverse musicians.  Expect more in 2015, with some ventures outside the Beltway. Announcements coming soon-ish.

Here is the set list from the show I did on December 19th.

Grogan Social Scene Classic Rock Revue - December 19th, 2014

There will be a few more of these classic rock shows, but I'll also be doing more solo shows, as I've got a bunch of material from the album we're working on, and new songs I've been writing.

Shows for December!

Hello,

Hope you like the new site. I am planning to post a bit more frequently, but wanted to take this time to announce the two shows for I'll be playing in December. Afterwards, I'll be using the rest of the year (and beginning of 2015) to work on some big projects I have planned, so please stay tuned.

On Thursday, December 4th, I will be playing a solo acoustic set, along with Daniel Suhre and Teething Veils, in support of The Red Fetish's new album release and listening party over at Dr. Clock's Nowhere Bar.  The event starts at 7pm, and made DCist's Live Music Agenda for the week.

On Friday, December 19th, I will be back in Adam's Morgan with my quartet, performing classic rock 'n soul covers.  This is a fun night of good music, and there's no cover, AND I might throw in a holiday tune, or too, so you should come out to that as well.  That event is at The Green Island, 2327 18th St NW, WDC.  It will start at 9pm.
